2019 SAFE CARES Emergency Drop-In Center
HomeAid, a leading national provider of housing and resources for the homeless, partnered with Taylor Morrison, a leading national builder and developer, to build an emergency drop-in center in Austin for survivors of exploitation and trafficking. Approximately 79,000 minors and youth are victims of sex trafficking in Texas. The new center remodeled by HomeAid Builder Captain, Taylor Morrison, is now an entry point where survivors of trafficking can rest, get one-on-one counseling in a safe environment and meet with peers going through the same situation. In the past, SAFE, Stop Abuse for Everyone, has served the local community for approximately 17 hours a week. With the new center, SAFE is now able to help local survivors by providing between 40 and 50 hours of service each week.
