Extreme Makeover Home Edition x HomeAid Austin Volunteer Opportunity
As the homebuilder partner for the reboot of ABC’s hit renovation show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Taylor Morrison is gearing up for the massive undertaking of building a home from the ground-up in just seven days for an incredibly deserving family.
There’s no Hollywood magic involved in the grand reveal that comes after shouting “Move that bus!”—just a lot of hard work that wouldn’t be possible without the help of a large team of volunteers.
That’s where you come in. HomeAid Austin is proud to partner with Taylor Morrison on this project and are recruiting volunteers to represent HomeAid Austin. We’re looking for individuals interested in volunteering during construction and filming, which will take place from Monday, Sept. 11, until Sunday, Sept. 17 at Taylor Morrison’s Emory Crossings 50s community in Hutto, TX.
Volunteer options include those who can be Handy Helpers (with tasks such serving food, taking out trash, etc.) and those who can support the Art World (which include skilled labor work like woodworking and cabinetry) or Interior Design (experienced with home décor, furnishings, indoor plants). To sign-up, click here and select your preferred days and times for your volunteer shifts.
HomeAid Austin will also be hosting an essentials drive during the week of construction and filming. At the build site, people will have the opportunity to donate essential items. Email caitie@homeaid.org if you would like more information on what to donate.
Thank you in advance for any support you’d be willing to lend to help us drastically change a family’s life by building them a beautiful new home.

Hope Totes Volunteering
For Every Child Inc. Hope Totes is a non-profit based in Austin, TX. Their mission; to deliver hope to every child entering foster care or emergency shelters. They seek to demonstrate to every child that someone does care about them by ensuring they are not dropped at the doorstep with a small trash bag of belongings. They replace that demeaning trash bag with a tote full of hope.
HomeAid Austin and volunteers will be gathering on June 7th to fill these totes of hope!
Builders for Babies
Builders for Babies is an annual Diaper Drive hosted by HomeAid Austin in partnership with the HBA Professional Women in Building Council and H-E-B to help Austin area non-profit organizations supply families in need with the essential items to raise healthy, happy babies. Last year, we raised a little over $30,000 and delivered a total of 175,000 diapers and 200,000 wipes to three service providers throughout Austin. This year we would like to beat those numbers!!! Help us reach our goal of $40,000.
You can make a single donation or create/join a fundraiser team. Every dollar raised goes right back into our community and has a major impact on families in need. The three service providers who will be receiving donations this year will be The SAFE Alliance, Partnerships for Children, and the Austin Diaper Bank. Thank you for your support❤️
The fundraiser will run from Mother's Day to Father's Day (May 14-June 18).
